01/12/05: Phil Daniel...

Phil Daniel, The Tullys' ace Sound Engineer and drummer returned home to Australia after two months in the USA. Phil was invited to perform in his own right at the Nashville Festival. Phil was delighted to be given this huge opportunity and just happened to have several CDs ready for sale?!

Well done, Phil, you were great! We welcomed him back with a famous Tully family BBQ

19/11/05: Special Children's Christmas Party...

The Tullys played a large charity gig for the Special Children's Christmas Party in Orange, NSW. It was a huge night and we were made very welcome by the very hardworking Orange Committee.

Matt Silver travelled with us to drum and has a funny tale about Cam's sleepwalking!!

01/10/05: Nashville, TN...

We were thrilled to be invited to perform at the Australian Festival in Nashville, TN, USA in September of this year. We had a wonderful time planning: deciding what to perform and rehearsing our new songs to performance standard - not to mention buying new clothes!!

The Festival was an outstanding success for the band - not only were we invited back, but were 'spotted' by a talent scout for The American Folk Alliance Festival, and by a supporter of the Memphis in May Festival.

We appeared on Nashville TV (Channel 4) and were interviewed and filmed playing live. The station was very good to us, showing an interview and parts of two songs. Friends who live in Nashville told us it was almost unknown for them to give anyone such a lengthy spot.

The gigs themselves were fun - at one stage the audience was chanting for more and booed the MC when she kept to the program and brought on the next act! (Glad we weren't in their shoes!) We met many great people and had the chance to meet and hear some great bands while we were there.

We also played for a Corporate client while in Nashville, (which gave us one of our best ever references!) and had the experience of playing at the well-known bar and music venue 3rd and Lindsley.

A highlight for us personally was the opportunity to play again with brother Lawson Tully who now lives in Nashville. What started out as a visit has turned into a love affair with the city. Even at the first rehearsal on the Tuesday before the Festival proved what an outstanding talent he is. His drumming rocks! The trip also confirmed to us that we are a tight band with his talented replacement, Phil Daniel.

04/03/05: The Tullys In The Shed...

On Friday 4 March The Tullys invited a selection of family, friends and friends of friends (meaning we didn?t actually know most of the people who came!) to a concert in our shearing shed.

The Tullys played two sets, featuring their new recordings, their brand-new (as yet unrecorded) material, originals from their first album 'My Brother Charlie' (2002) and a couple of their own favourite covers from artists including The Beatles, U2, Crowded House and Paul Kelly.

In the audience was top Producer, Richard Lush, who has invited The Tullys to record an album with him...

For those who aren't familiar with Richard Lush, he is a 'name' behind many big names in the Entertainment Industry. For his discography visit: http://www.bigsmoke.com.au/sub_lushr.html
